The yarn swap made people very happy and they want more, so we will be having more. The next one will be on February 10th from 2-3 pm....the actual swap will happen at 2:30. Yarn will still need to be wrapped, a fine yarn from you stash - one you would be pleased to get. Just one ball is enough. We will have these more often, each with a theme. February is Valentine's Day - bring something red, pink or white, romantic or not.

Just in case you forgot - today is the swap party. Bring a ball of yarn from your stash, wrapped so it is a mystery what it is and we'll swap..................since folks can't necessarily be here the whole time we'll draw every half hour or so depending on how many are here....we'll draw numbers to see who picks first. I ordered way too much yarn - there's so much new stuff we are overwhelmed....the sale shelf is full and we still haven't made enough room for it all. There's new chunky alpaca, and worsted weight alpaca/wool/silk (yummm!) and a tweedy silk and lace weight Egyptian cotton, and stripey merino and sock yarn and new patterns from Drops and Cascade and ...and...some winter stuff and some early spring things. You gotta come see this - well, feel this would be better.

I just this morning finished spinning and plying some wool I got at the Fiber Festival in October (there was a lot and I don't get a lot of spinning time)
Think I will weave it.....How about another Spin In - in January - The 13th - 1 to 5 pm......How's that sound to everyone? Bring your wheels and spindles and spin in good company.
There are some new patterns at the store...Strickwear - designs by Candace Strick....a customer was wearing an Adagio shawl from her pattern and we just had to get it. And of course you can't just get one....so there are several designs. I may do an Adagio in that new Schaefer Silk that came in last week.
You never know what Doyle is going to do....he went to the store for toilet paper and came back with a giant rabbit. Red Bear is thrilled there's another friend. I think we need to make him a sheep suit....maybe one for both of them.
oh and there's the newest weaving too..pink silk boucle on a linen warp. I don't recommend linen warp for your first weaving...not forgiving enough.........

The name of those little headband things is PANTA!......just so you know now. Yesterday's weaving class did great things - all the classes do great stuff - its amazing....but I managed to get a picture of the finished products....
And another thing...I have been making cat toys for our newest family member - I'll only put him here once...but he is soooo pretty and adorable I had to put a picture.
There's new Schaefer yarn and they are very nice....Lace Weight Silk and a Silk Boucle.....and some new colors of other yarns too...The rep was here...uh oh......
and they are sitting right up front in the New Arrivals Basket.....
It isn't just a wide headband, it has a name and I can't remember what it is. If you know, please write and tell me. A customer came in last week with the cutest one - she bought it in New York and wanted help duplicating it. So I am writing up the pattern for this one a couple more, They are comfy and warm and I wore mine all morning at home.
