Happy New Year Everyone

Hope everyone has a good time and a safe night.  I'm staying in and starting the year right - knitting.  We will be closed tomorrow and reopen on Thursday Jan 3rd.  See you then.  Maybe I can get this done....

Ropes It's supposed to look like nautical rope - from the new book Ocean Breezes and I did it in Aurora 8.

I must be insane

I have signed up for 4 (FOUR, yes FOUR) mystery stole lace KALs that start sometime in January.  I will get the patterns but obviously I have lost my mind (or would if I tried to do them all at once).  Anyone want to join me?  Go to yahoo groups and search for:  Secret of the Stole ii, Secret of Bad Nauheim, Spring Shawl Surprice (yes it is misspelled) and dem fischer sin fru (The Fisherman's Wife) or write me and I can give you another link too.  Several of these are originating in Germany but it's a chart, how hard can it be?  I have only managed 20 rows on the sheep shawl over the last three days....but I am also working on a heavily cabled scarf in Aurora 8....might be Doyle's....

The FedEx guy came early this morning and brought presents....Kidlin in some new colors and lots of roving for all the spinners out there....some Shetland and Falkland and  Dyed Corriedale and Pretty Northern Lights pencil roving......oh my.

And Monday afternoon there were new books, including Homespun Handknit and some other great titles.  I mention this one for two reasons.  It has the amazing Cathedral Mittens that Jinjifore knitted and everyone in knitting group coveted.  I also found a neat little pattern in there by a local person - Jamie Ledford - the cutest little sheepy mittens.

Barb made this hat...

And I made this one

Wisdomhat out of a new yarn by Wisdom Yarns - 100% wool, and pretty stripes.

And look what I finished....

Xmashat It's all Lisa's fault.  I had stashed some Drops Camelia in the back for some fair isle project and then she - in her new addiction to Fair Isle Knitting - started one of these from the Holiday Interweave Knits - I had to have it.

December 22, 2007

Holiday hours are:   Normal hours except Monday we are open 11-3 and Tuesday we are closed of course.  Next week we are open Monday from 10-4, Tuesday the 1st we are closed.  I sent a newsletter - if any one didn't get it and wants to, please sign the blue pad by the cash register and you'll get the next one.  Stacie will be here working (tomorrow) Sunday for S & B and I am off for most of the day.

I hope everyone has a great holiday and a safe one.

Check this out...

Advent Calendar for Knitters

This is just WOW!

Kadri finished the incredible sweater she made up.  It's Suri Merino, with lots and lots of beautiful cables and is just lovely.Kadris The detail is amazing - down to the cabled ribbing at the bottom and the neck and sleeves.

And hey the new Knitscene is in.  And I've been researching Lace Knit Alongs....because I am pretending that I don't have at least two other unfinished lace projects sitting there.  Anyone else up for a really complicated lace knitting mystery shawl kind of thing?

Last Chance

to drop off your charity knitting projects for Room in the Inn.  They'll be going out this afternoon....

Anyone one want Superwash Roving

There's a bit of Extra Soft Merino Superwash Roving in.  Right now there's a couple of pounds of undyed.  After the holidays I will start playing with dyes again and there'll be that........

It's my birthday....I'm over fifty so I don't have to tell how old I am.  Stacy brought me cake from that new bakery - Julia's ---yumm yumm.........I'll be on a sugar high all day....

I'm at it again

Reorganizing that is.....I have gotten a lot of new needles in lately. We've added Inox circulars - their cords uncurl more easily than Clover and the joins are better.  They come in metal or plastic.  And I am trying out some different double points too.  Empress comes in its own little leather case and are made of polished bamboo.  About like the Clover, but a bit less money and a nicer finish on them.  Also Rosewood double points are my favorite choice, yummy feel to them and sharper points and just plain pretty.

So here's what the walls look like now.

And then Crystal Palace sent this really pretty little cardigan made from Merino 5, a worsted superwash merino wool that feels and looks luscious.  It's only here for a month, so come see it, cause this is pretty cool yarn.
