Stash Killer Afghan

This one emptied most of a shelf of my stash....Cast on 50 stitches. Hold  6-8 strands of yarn together on size 35s.  Knit  6 rows of garter stitch, then do stockinette with a 5 stitch garter stitch border until you are close to the end...then 6 more rows of garter stitch.  Must weight 15 pounds and it's soft and warm and A QUICK KNIT.  The pattern is in Free Patterns....And then you can justify buying more yarn.....

December 10th - My bad!

Guess I was two days ahead of myself in my post, but the 12th will be here before we know it.  hahahahaha

December 12th

It's me, Carole.  Meredith is away today, so I'm working and wondering how it got to be December 12th so quickly.  Time flies when we're having fun?   Well, it seems to fly whether we're having fun or not.  It's hard to believe that Christmas is so close.   Do you have those knitted Christmas gifts done already?  If not, come on in and pick out something for a quick gift for that someone special or not so special.  You're choice.  hahahaha  The first thing I do when I come to work here is straighten all the yarn  because that's just the way I am.  Well, while doing this, I couldn't get away from the Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande Paint.  It's so luciously soft, beautifully painted and wants to go around my neck for those cold days which we will defnitely have.  So, I'm sure a skein or two will go home with me.  I have on my hand knitted socks today - and every day, for that matter.  There's still time to knit socks for a gift, too.  Really there is.  I'm knitting my daughter a pair of Crazy Socks.  Yes, sometimes, I get out of my selfish sock knitting for me mode.  ;>)  I hope you all will have a happy holiday season filled with family, friends, cheer and love.

Knitting Bingo

Betty won this amazing bauble at knitting bingo this afternoon at the Sunday S & B.

Bauble It's hollow, beaded and put together by our wonderful Vera who donated it for giveaway.  So we played knitting bingo and had fun and Betty won.....She's very happy.

I finished it

It's my Looks Like a Quilt Modular Afghan

Quilt Made from Boku, lots of Boku...I wrote up the pattern this morning.  It's free when you buy the yarn to make it. Seems to be an andventurous intermediate knitting project.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love Alpaca?

Sniff Bliss

Alpaca Lust.....This alpaca is special...there are several colors - some tweedy worsted weight and some DK solids, no dyes anywhere....all natural colors (there are 22 colors of alpaca fiber).  There's also a bit more variety of dyeable yarns...some 50/50 Alpaca/Merino, some pure merino and some other wool that has several plies and they are supposed to take the dye in differently...can't wait to try that one.

Here's another gift idea...

I made this Fauxbius cowl...

Faux It's from 2 skeins of Baby Alpaca Grande Paint and the softest thing next to your face.  The pattern is free with yarn purchase.  It's a ribbed lace pattern that looks great on both sides.  It's a fauxbius cause you make a straight piece and then twist when you sew it together.

And then there's this - StacieTyhat made this great little hat out of Washday Wool - a new fingering weight wool that's superwash.
