Fiber Guild Meeting is Today

at 3:30.  Not at the usual place, The Fly is having the floors redone still.  It is at The Gathering Place at 119 E. Depot St.  Connie Glower (sp?) will be talking about natural dyes...oh boy, lichens and plants, maybe mushrooms?  I have been into the mushrooms lately (just for dyeing).  Got a beautiful creamy tan on some shetland fleece I am dyeing with what still remains "the mystery mushroom".  It was huge and floppy, growing on a log, kind of looked like a pig's ear, but not like the pig's ear mushroom in any of my mushroom hunting books. I digress...maybe the cold is affecting me...

The heat has been off and it is cold in here, but Doyle, because he is magical, fixed it, so it should warm up some soon.

It seems I forgot to mention

the shipment of new Noro - Kureyon and Silk Garden Lite - there are some pretty intense colors there.

Kure

Silkgar I think I may be inspired to do a modular purse from these or a Lucy Bag (since now we have that pattern).

The Kimono Show goes back tomorrow afternoon so stop by to see it before then. They fit just about everyone and are so elegant...

Today's new yarns....

There are some new colors of KidLin by Louet on the shelf.

Kidlin They are lovely and sort of unusual colors since the two fibers take on the dyes differently.

Here's some of the Knit Kimono stuff that came in:

Ki Kimo

Kimon Come in and see these amazing pieces and the others.  That wine and cheese box opening was good, with everyone trying them on and modeling them.

And I have finished - except for the elusive chain handles - the Formal Boot Bag that will be a class starting February 26th in the evening.Bootbag It is really redder that this shows, out of Plymouth Tweed - 5 balls if I don't do an I-cord handle.

Happy Feet and Two Old Bags

That's what I put out today

Happy This is Plymouth's new sock yarn aptly named Happy Feet.  Got that handpainted yummy look.  And there are some new patterns - from Two Old Bags - They do wonderful bags and shawl patterns.  After  tonight's opening of the trunk show, they'll be on the big table for a while.

And on Monday

There's a Trunk Show for Knit Kimono.  The box got here yesterday and I have not peeked....I just got out the accompanying paperwork and it is sitting, not opening until 5:30 on Monday at the party.  The party, if you don't know already is from 5 - 7 or so, Wine & Cheese and such, for those that want to be the first to see the great stuff that was in the book.  Everyone is welcome.  I even put another box on top of it (more yarn, tee hee) to keep everyone out of it until then.
