Really I don't have anything against your grandma and her crochet - I love making doilies and afghans too, just with better yarn. I've been on what can only be described as a crochet binge this month or so and have made several things. A purse that now needs a lining sometime before the summer is gone, Knock Knock Knock Penny got finished last night and will be blocked tomorrow (free Ravelry pattern) and there is this as well. It's a bathing suit coverup or a cute little top. The pattern is in Crochet magazine, which by the way, we stock here. There are some great new things in the last few issues and I have made a couple of things out of it lately.
I have also been spinning a lot - those new sequin carry along yarns have inspired me to use up some of my stash
And of course this came in the other day
They make fabulous scarves and shawls. It is a new company we recently got - Lucci Yarns This is Melange and Lucatape.
And one more thing.....Artfelt Paper from Skacel does magic things with fiber and felting, with way less elbow grease than wet felting usually requires. Here's the start of a scarf that will making it's appearance next week.
