We want to see your projects and share them with our community so we can all inspire (enable) each other. You may email pictures of your completed project to firstname.lastname@example.org along with the name of the pattern and the yarn used or bring your project to the shop and we will photograph it for you!
Robin is going to teach a class on How to Read a Crochet Pattern! 4 people have asked me about this class this week and so here it is. It will be at 3pm on Friday, March 1st.
Other classes of interest are:
Beaded Necklace class, also by Robin, on Friday Feb 15th. Learn to use beads in your knitting. We have a few kits left for this one, but it you want you can also use other yarns and beads.
I'm doing a design your own top down sweater class February 9 & 16 too. You can make a simple top down sweater, add stitch patterns or colorwork and have something no one else will be able to duplicate.
The next monthly KAL is Feb 9th - the Ten Stitch Scarf which is an exercise in short rows. This is a fun scarf by Frankie Brown who has a lot of great patterns on Ravelry. Please print your own pattern and come on in to the KAL for help getting started.
We are meeting for the Sky Scarf KAL on Tuesday, Feb 5th at 4pm if anyone wants to come and share.
The latest knewsletter is out. I will try to get it posted here in the next couple of days but if you read it ALL in your mail, there is a little surprise at the end......
In case of snow: we are generally open unless it is horrible and very dangerous and so icy you can't walk out of the house. Or if the electricity is out. Otherwise classes are on and I will post any changes to that here.
Perfect for staying in and knitting - well okay you could come hang out here too. I am definitely making hot chocolate when I get home even though it is warm out - maybe I just want to pretend we are having a winter......and then knit some on my Stafford Mitts. I am making extra long ones but am still about half done with them. (Pictures later)
Here are some recent customer projects
An Afghan Square of the Month project done...very very nice
And Laura's Angry Bird Handwarmers for David - yes we are bugging her for the pattern...
And this believe it or not is his first scarf! Awesome...
We've gotten a shipment of those wonderful baskets from Ghana - they came in Thursday. I love them.
One last picture is the new Phoenix - egyptian cotton from Ella Rae
just thought I'd say for those who are concerned.....
Some of the new spring yarns have started arriving and I have to get rid of some things so there are some yarns on sale this week. Their shelves will have tags on them. Plus magazines are 30% off all month....Oh heck, while I am at it Ruffle yarns are 15% off this week!
There are still a couple of spaces in Lisa's class this Saturday. A beginner's Lace Cowl. Learn to knit in the round using a very easy lace pattern and have a warm cowl for when it finally gets cold next week?
Don't forget the Stafford Mitts Knitalong starts this afternoon. This is the January project. We are doing one KAL a month this year. They will all be fun and different and perfect for new or intermediate knitters who want to learn a new skill or more experienced ones who just want something fun that's quick. The Stafford mitts are mitered knitting and I will demonstrate it at the KAL meeting this afternoon at 3. It is okay to jsut show up for these, no reservations and its free. Please print your own pattern off Ravelry for this one. It requires sock weight yarn - preferably self striping - and #1 needles.
