Okay, Now There's News...

So, just after I posted yesterday the UPS guy came...how come that happens so much?....and of course he was bearing gifts.  Louet sent more merino/silk roving in incredible colors, Kidlin - a lace weight linen/mohair blend that is very pretty, some new patterns that are just wonderful (samples to follow soon, I hope). 

No News Really

I am working on getting the email going again so if you get something more than once it should only happen once and if you don't get anything wait a day or two and it should come in.   If you still don't have it next week, let me know.

Things are starting to settle down again, just as I am getting ready to leave for Italy for 10 days!  Carole and Bronwyn and Denelle will be here, but I will only be accessible by email.  Carole will be answering most of that even - I plan to check it often but you never know.  If anyone out there knows of yarn stores in northern Italy tell me.  I know there's one in Venice, one in Florence.....I can't wait but I know I will miss the folks at the store.  When I get back the trunk show for Natural Knits for Babies and Moms will be here and I will see about planning something special for that.  But be sure to come and see it the week of the 18th.

More Knaked Yarn & a New Project

We have a few more selections of Knaughty Knitter Knaked Yarn - sport weight Merino and Alpaca in 150yd hanks ready for dyeing....

And then I started a Shrug out of Austermann Murano and I love it.   I am trying to use only one ball and it will work it seems.  So in a few days there'll be a free pattern available of it with purchase of the yarn.  The color in this photo may not be quite right - cause the colors  seem much richer in person.  It's the flash.....

Kool Aid Fun

It was one of those rare mornings when I actually got to be at home and I was playing with wool and Kool Aid all morning.  I made an interesting pink, yellow and orange sock yarn, with dark purple spots that looks like it'll stripe well.   It's drying now but there'll be a picture soon.  And then some others in green and orange - well with those we'll have to wait & see...Sign up for Kool Aid Dyeing class by Thursday so that Carole knows how many to prepare for.  She is so looking forward to this one - and she got to play with Kool Aid too making up samples for you all.

And Now....

We have what Denelle called naked yarn....dyeable sock weight superwash yarn in 180yd hanks, ready for the dye pot when you are.  I've dyed with this before and it just soaks up the color. For now it is just sock yarn Later I will add some other weights and types of fibers - a whole line of Knaughty Knitter Knaked Yarn.  So sign up for the Kool Aid Dyeing class next weekend (while there is still room) and learn what to do with it.  Carole is teaching it and it promises to be really wonderful. 

New Yarn

Well, about five minutes after I posted yesterday the UPS guy came bearing gifts.  Hand dyed fingering weight merino/tencel and superwash merino from a new company in Virginia - Misty Mountain Farms.  Her mom is the Louet yarn rep who was here last week, so there's also more of that coming....lace weight mohair & linen, baby yarns that are great and more merino silk spinning fibers.  But back to what's here...Misty Mountain is so pretty, earthy and beautiful colorways and few brights too.  Oh here's a picture. And another one....

More Changes

Rachel came in and made the blog look prettier.  I am so glad.  She also started the process of changing over so that when you go to the website it takes you here and then you can link back to the other pages.  That should be finalized tomorrow.

No UPS man bearing presents today,  but there is so much yarn here right now nothing more can fit....well except the hand painted stuff that got mailed yesterday and should be here next week. 

Bronwyn is here on Thursdays and she is knitting a cashmere lace scarf that promises to be luxurious and beautiful.  There will be pictures soon, cause she is sooo fast.   By the way, anyone want to learn to knit continental?  She's available to teach that...Let us know and we'll do a class.

Wow the First One on the New Blog

This the first blog on this site.  Eventually this will link back to the other website but for now this is it.  Rachel is no longer here during the week - this is sad!  Of course it's Monday and we are closed but I am working some anyway.  Beginning knitting classes were full this weekend so lots of new knitters were created. This week's classes are Intermediate Knitting and How To Fix Mistakes, both on Saturday. I am knitting away on the vest out of Jo Sharp still..... but I really like it. I put up a small picture gallery already - from the fashion show in May, Red Bear's Adventures, Projects, Customer Gallery.... and there is more to follow.  Send me pics of your projects or bring them into the shop for a photo op and I will put them in the Customer Gallery..
