On the Square Shawl

The pattern for the On the Square Shawl (brown mohair one in recent projects) has just come in too, and the Reader's Wrap....so those of you who were waiting for the shawl, it is here.

I've been having fun again...

I've been making more Magic Balls............These are really fire engine red and some oranges and deep purple/maroons.......with lots of texture....come and see them.   

And there's the new Vogue, the new Knitter's, the Holiday issue of Interweave Knits.  And Baby yarn from Louet that is sumptuous.

Here's that weaving...

Here's a picture of the weaving I did this summer.  The color is off but it is so soft and pretty.  It is in the shop if anyone wants to come in & see.  My brain was overflowing with cool ideas for scarves this morning...poor Doyle had to make me stop talking to him so he could leave for work....

By the way the class for this is scheduled for November 18th - ALL DAY!  and the November Calendar is up too - with other good things on it.

More Presents.....

Everyday seems like Christmas...the UPS guy came again....more colors of Berroco Ultra Alpaca and Drops Alpaca. I love that stuff.  And only a little time left make all those gifts.   I'm still working on that baby blanket - Charity knitting - and I will be done by tomorrow, I will be done by tomorrow...I really will.

I just got word today that several "Knitter's Looms" are on the way and will be in next week.  These are simple rigid heddle looms that Ashford developed.  They weigh 3 lbs, fold up and go anywhere even when warped (If you don't know what warped is, ask me).  I took a class in this at TNNA this summer and they are amazing little looms.  Called knitter's looms cause they are simple to use with knitting yarns and all that novelty stuff or ribbon or even sock yarn.........You don't have to have all the technical know how that a larger loom requires...oh and no back breaking labor to warp it either.  So in November there will be classes for this...I should be getting the November calendar up tomorrow.  They are so simple that yes this is enough time to make EVERYONE you know a woven scarf or shawl.....I'll post a picture of mine this week too.

It's October

That means that in a few days we will be 11 months old....and in a month The Knaughty Knitter will have been here for a whole incredible YEAR!  It is so hard to believe still, and it has been a wonderful year and full of great new friends and wonderful customers.

The Knitathon produced a few things and they will be taken to the hospital on Friday.  Thank you to everyone who participated.  And thanks for the cookies too, Amy.  I know some folks were going to knit some things at home so if you have things to drop off please have it in (already washed and finished) by Friday at 11.  If you want to have it washed with the other things or it needs any finishing then please have it here by closing on Wednesday so I have time to do that.

Darlene finished her first lace project - a beautiful cashmere scarf that Bronwyn did the pattern for and will be teaching in her Fearless Lace class.  See a more detailed picture in the cusomer gallery.
