February is for finishing

 Here comes February. I said it was for finishing but the Olympics are in the way….so the first twelve days of February are for finishing and I got my list of UFO’s together yesterday…oh dear, oh my, way more than I really thought.  The idea is to make decisions about them and get as many finished as possible.  Some of these are ongoing - what I call stupid knitting projects that I can pick up when my brain has been fried and not have to think too much.

1. Learn to Knit Afghan - let it sit - it is ongoing anyway
2. The afghan of many stitch patterns - same as the 1st
3. Koigu block sweater, it is ongoing too
4. Goddess Knits Mystery Shawl from last year (or the year before) either frog or finish quickly. I’ll spend an hour on it and plan a different finish (that isn’t 45 more rounds) I will have a plan and do it, otherwise off to the Frog pond with it.
5. Slip Stitch vest - easy to finish so I will - 1 day
6. Modular Shell pattern cowl - finish it 3 days at least
7. Bright turquoise mitts - finish, but only cause there is a matching cowl - 2 days
8. Lopi Fair Isle sweater started in Dec - work on it in March
9. Sheep shawl - since it is half done it sits a while yet. But i think i had a mistake which needs fixing - if i fix it, good, if not, frog it.
10. Scarf made of koolaid dyed yarns with different stitch patterns - it sits until I get done with some other stuff - stupid knitting
11. Starry night shawl - ongoing work, have to spin a bit then knit a bit so I keep it
12. Cotton summer top - frog it
13. blue sweater - only the sleeve is started so frog it
14. Felted hat - only needs felting, so do it
15. Fair isle scarf and hat set in tiny yarn, - i don’t know, now i’m overwhelmed……aaahhh
16. a mystery blue handpainted yarn shawl from an old interweave knits - don’t know which one or where i am in the pattern - frog it.
17. Cashmere fingerless gloves, finish the second one! 18 & 19. Two unfinished pairs of socks - oh wait there’s a third pair too….not finishing them all….. So this is a good mix - frogging at least a few things, finishing a few and slogging along on a few more… Oh wait there is a log cabin sweater too….eeekkk! Maybe my goal is to reduce the list by half in twelve days and worry about the rest in March. But then I want to be sure to get to them before the year is out cause I would hate to list them again next year.
18. is really 21 - red alpaca & mohair ruffley scarf - I was writing the pattern and got distracted by other pretty things.   I think all of the  frogging will wait til the Olympics - there's an event for that.
