Here's the latest on the move

As some of you know  we have been looking for bigger space!  We found it about a week ago and we had been planning on moving the first part of May but have moved it up a bit.  As it stands now, and assuming the contractor continues to move at the same pace , we will be moving the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of April.  We will be closed all of the time for moving and then vacation from April 21st until May 3rd.  Please understand that this could, of course, change again any minute.....It has been like that.  The new address as of May 3rd will be 202B N. Thompson Lane.  This is the building on your right after you pass the entry to Walmart on Thompson Lane.  The one with all the solar panels on top.  It is easy to find and pretty easy to get in and out of.  We have the windows covered some so you can't see before it is ready - I want to surprise everyone with how it'll look.  Of course right now it is a mess cause the new carpet isn't in yet and the painting hasn't happened yet.  We're pretty excited.

With that I have postponed the classes scheduled for the 21st .  I did put up the classes for summer, and will be adding more as I think of them.  There is space for two tables and so two classes at a time.  WooHoo!

 

Here's that purse you could make

The class for this has been postponed til May 12th & 26th.  We'll make the purse (a simple first felting project) and then needle felt whatever design you like on it.  I just did these primitive flowers but you can make it more detailed and fancy too.

New ruffle yarn

Expect to see this headline a lot in the future - there is so much of it out there now.  This one is Spectra by Rozetti...
It is very cool.....Also in....some novelty yarns that have been around a while but that we haven't had in a while....Little Flowers, Poof, Fizz and a new one from Crystal Palace - Aria.  Check out www.straw.com for free patterns using these.

OOPS I Forgot...If you are in the monthly afghan square class - CO 42, knit 8 rows.

Here's my latest pattern.  Karuta (for the yarn) Traveling Vines Cape.

Karuta is a chunky cotton blend yarn from Noro.  We have almost all the colors.  The cape only takes 2 skeins and the pattern is available for purchase now.

Did I mention that the knewsletter went out this morning?  There is one in the latest newsletters section on here too.  And about half an hour after it went the newest version of the ruffle yarn - Elicia - came in - six colors, big holes like the old ones, just a different feel to it.

I am adding a felted bag class to the schedule for early April.  We'll be making a felted bag/tote and then needle felting embellishments onto it.  Class fee includes felting needle and wool.  Check back here in a couple of weeks for the sample.

New New New

There are these adorable stitch markers, chart keepers and needle gauges that came in today.  I ordered them at market and they are so nice.  The chart keeper is very nice and practical - put the magnets on the back of the page in the magazine and the ruler on the front and woohoo, you have your line in the instructions marked.  You can get matching needle gauges and stitch markers too.  They are made of laser cut alder wood and then the metal is hand worked by villagers in Thailand - It is a fair trade company too. Yes this means they are not cheap, but the workers make a living wage. There are sheep and alpacas, and dogs and kitties and hearts....

Whew, that's over and it's pretty out...

Here's the beginnings of a scarf out of the new Cestari yarn.  It is very nice to knit with.

I am wimping out...There will not be group this evening.

Several people have asked and indicated they didn't think they were coming out this evening.   If the storms hit, we'll likely lose the electricity anyway so I am taking this evening off and closing about 5:30.  Besides it is better to be cuddled up with Doyle, Skipper and the kitties and not have to go out.  So y'all stay safe.

I didn't get all the colors I ordered, but some is here.  I made this flower pin and scarf in just a few minutes.  Even Doyle said I should just get on the phone now and order more.....
