Fiber in the Boro

is this weekend!  Nov 2nd 9-5.  Because we will be getting ready for the show there is no group Friday night and we will be closing a bit early - 5 instead of 6pm.

There are guaranteed to be wonderful vendors and demonstrations.  I am teaching weaving in the booth.  You can reserve a spot ahead and then have a choice of colors. Weave a scarf for yourself in two hours or so.  Come out and see us at the booth to register for a doorprize too.

That Nice Stitch Cowls

Lisa taught this class a couple of weeks ago, but the pattern is available on Ravelry.  I have been having computer/camera issues and couldn't get these up til now.....Here are some samples from the class that students made.  They are so pretty.

is SOOO SOFT and SQUISHY!  Plymouth Baby Alpaca Magna - A review on Ravelry says WOW, try this yarn and you should.

Here's a cowl I made yesterday with it.   Size 17 needles and so fast.  The free pattern called for 16" needles but I used 24" with no prolem.

Afghan Knit Along

is Monday and we will be doing bobbles.  You can pick from squares 20, 29 or 44.  Technically square 9 using Trinity St is a bobble too, but we will cover it separately.  It helps to cast on before class for the squares.  You could also just bring scrap yarn to practice bobbles on.

Lisa's Cabled Cowl

Want to learn to make cables, but keep it simple enough that you don't feel overwhelmed?  This is the class for you.  Make a cute cabled cowl that you sew into a circle.  This class is in November with Lisa.

okay I know - it is a terrible picture, the hat is really pretty though.  This one is a child size, you can make on larger in class.....The class is November 9th & 23rd.  Learn to knit in the round, make pretty cables and have a lot of fun with Lisa.

Here's a new weaving

I made this scarf mostly of handspun yarns and any textured stuff I could find in my stash.  It was so much fun.  

Today there is a weaving class - that's too late to sign up for but there is a Weaving for Fun class at Fiber in the Boro in our booth.  If you want to pick your colors and get a guaranteed time slot sign up early.  Or take your chances and do it at the booth.  You could make something like this even....

And i just got in the new 2.5 dpi heddle - it is useful for big bulky yarns and art yarns.  Think I will have to do some of that when I get home today....

New Scarf Pattern

I put this in the window a week or so ago (maybe two, my brain is still a little fried from the whole Doyle in the hospital episode)

I love the way the yarn makes that zig zag pattern in the scarf.  Robin knitted this for me and so it was a complete surprise when I saw it.

It also can do this for a fun cowl.  The pattern is available on Ravelry too.

Lisa made this great display....

Angus is made of Milk Cartons!  (by Jean H.)  He's just too cute.  And the hat is one of my patterns, those pom poms should be here soon.  But for the Snowboarder hat class you could do this one or one in a super bulky weight yarn.  

Also in the window is my Witches Circle Doily - Robin is teaching a crocheted doily class on November 8th and you could take what you learn from her and make it for next year!
