Angelina is Magic

These are some Suncatchers I made this weekend.

Here's how: You need 2 pieces of parchment paper, an iron, bits of yarn, wool or other inserts and angelina - crimped seems to melt better, straight is sparklier.  Is that a word?

Lay a thin layer of angelina on the parchment. Lay bits of yarn or wool or paper bits on top then put another layer of angelina.  You can use a loop of yarn for a hanger.  Lay the other parchment sheet on top and iron it. Use a hot iron but quickly.  It'll curl up, wrinkle and lose it's shine if it gets too hot. 

Yes we some angelina in the store and more on the way. And more suncatchers in the window here too.

I did make a dent in the stash room messiness over the weekend.

I got the crocheted shawl blocked.  This is the one Robin was doing the crochet along with"Changes".

These are some little bags that I had started and now they are done.  They are here in the store for sale.

There were two pieces of weaving that needed to be cowls...

This was from some handpainted yarn I bought in Dickson a few years ago.

And this is an experiment in felting woven stuff.  The center warp is wool the other yarns are cotton.  I probably will give it another wash to felt a little more and get a better ruffle on the sides.

And there were two bags that only needed a little bit finishing.  I did one, but the other is still sitting....just needs its handles sewn on but it is hand sewing and I have to think about how it gets done yet, so later....

Tis a good thing to get some of the UFOs done and out of there.

One color, CO 36 and knit 4 rows.

 

LT: With right hand needle behind, skip one stitch and knit the second st through the back loop, leave it on the needle.  Then insert the right hand needle into the backs of both st and k2 tog-b, slip both stitches off the needle

RT:  k2tog, leaving the st on the left hand needle.  Insert right needle from the front in between the st just knitted tog and knit the first one again.  Slip them off the needle.

 

Row 1 and all wrong side rows: K2, purl to last 2, k2 

Row 2: K2, *LT, k2, LT, RT, rep from *

Row 4:  k3, * LT, k2, RT, k2, rep from * to last 3, k3

Row 6:  K2, *RT, LT, RT, k2, Rep from * to last 2, k2

Row 8:  K5, *LT, k2, RT, k2, Rep from * to last 7, LT, K5

 

Rep rows 1-8 to desired length, Knit 4 rows, BO.
