We're Getting a Facelift!

What this means is we will need some time to get it all done, Painting, moving all the shelves, arranging all the yarn and all the other little details.  So we will be closed on Monday and Tuesday of next week (the 29th and 30th) and also the usual Wednesday.  We will be open again on Thursday.  It's gonna be amazing, and so pretty.  I will be tweeting and facebooking along the way and dropping a hint here and there, though the windows will be covered until we are done.

You may have noticed that our Facebook has disappeared. We are working on it to make it better and more fun. You can follow us at The Knaughty Knitter and get back in touch. I will be sending out an email and new friend requests once the Revamp is done. Some cool new things are coming. Look for more announcements here and in your email over the next few weeks... It'll be really good!

It is finally getting to be Fall –I had to wear long sleeves yesterday.

There are several great things happening here this Fall.  Well, of course there is always new yarn but I meant more than that.  

 

We’ll be doing a Mystery Hat of the Month KAL from October through March. Some of you may remember the scarf of the month club we did a few years ago.  It will be a bit like that.   I will pick a pattern (not just my patterns) and put together the kit for it (two or more color choices) and you’ll come in get your kit each month for a fabulous hat.  I can also mail these to you if you live far away.

I picked out a wonderful pattern for October, using several interesting techniques.  I will print the pattern for you or you have the option of having it put in your Ravelry library.  Class price includes a class in making it and there will always be at least two options for class dates.  You can come to the monthly yarn therapy groups that are starting up again on the third Monday of the month or to the Saturday, Oct 18^th class at 1:30pm.  The mystery KAL includes the pattern, yarns and classes.  The deadline for registering is October 4^th.

 

And more news.  Chase away the Monday Blues with Yarn.  Mondays will be special around here this fall.  Starting in October the first Monday of each month is Senior Discount Day.  If you are over 55 you get 10% off all regularly priced yarn that day.

The 2^nd Monday of the month will feature a pattern and yarn to go with it.  The pattern will be one easily available and the yarn will be on sale that day at the store.  The announcements for these will appear on facebook and on the website, so check there often.

And for 3^rd Mondays – Get a free pattern when you purchase any regularly priced yarn

4^th Mondays will feature a yarn that is discounted while current stock lasts, so you have to get in on it early. 

And there is more:  One day each month I will put a word or code on facebook in the news feed and on the store blog and twitter.  Tell it to me when you come in the store that day and I will give double your rewards points for what you purchase that day.  (If you don’t know about rewards points you haven’t been here in a while and it is time to come in and check us out again)

 

Oh, wait, one more thing.  On the first weekend in December we will have a section of the store open for ready made gifts.  You, my wonderful customers who make such beautiful things, can bring your gift items or ornaments or decorations in to sell.  These should be things you made, fiber related – so knitted, crocheted, felted, woven or a combination of these. There are some details and guidelines so give me a call if you are interested in participating in our Holiday Bazaar.

 

Wayne’s first knitting class went wonderfully and there are more on the schedule.  In October he will be teaching Beginning Knitting, Beginning Crochet, and More Knitting – a class where you can learn to purl, do a few pattern stitches and learn a bunch more.  There will be Even More Knitting later – where you learn increases, decreases and also a bunch more.  Quite likely he will have a hat class on the schedule too.

For September there is a multidirectional sweater – this is knitted in parts (No sewing though) and you’ll learn about designing your own sweater.  October will bring the first MKAL, and a basic hat class – both crochet and knitted.  And there is a filet crochet class too.

Doyle had a chuckle

When he came out to the deck this morning.  I was already there, in a big wooly sweater over my pjs, alpaca hat and mittens and fuzzy slippers.  It was almost a giggle.  Anyway I am glad for a bit of sweater weather.  I miss the wool during the Summer, I am glad Fall seems to be coming early this year.  And it has me in hat making mode.
