This was my yesterday...

When I started I had a table full of woolly things, two overflowing patio chairs of fluff and stuff.  That is now down to a large bag and a basket!  Woohoo!  These art batts have lots of different fibers in them - wools, silk, alpaca, tencel, soymilk, Angelina, camel.  Lots of my hand dyed bits of wools and silks and angora, and mohair locks....

I was only going to work on batts for a couple of hours - started at 10 and stopped around 5.  I have made 35 mini art bats.  Most are here in the store - just in time for Tour de Fleece which starts on the 4th of July. Once I got started it was hard to stop - which is why I only make these things once in a while, when they are gone they won't be back for months at least.

If you don't know, Tour De Fleece starts when the Tour de France does and while they are cycling through France we will be spinning along with them on our own wheels (or spindles).  Ravelry has numerous groups to join to do this along with and some offer prizes.  So come get your spinning supplies and join up.

I posted a partial pic on Facebook but here is what it really looks like.... it is a floor length vest that would have been awesome to wear to Bonnaroo....well maybe a bit warm, after all it is about 2400 yards of worsted weight yarn.

FINALLY! It took the Supreme Court forever, but they finally did the right thing. I know I usually stay away from voicing my political views, but this so so big and so important. I have been crying this morning I am so happy for all those folks who this affects.

This is Eco Butterfly's Quoperfina - a super soft lace weight organic cotton with a bit of copper running through it.  The pattern is Wandering Thyme off Ravelry.

This is the Happy Shawl - partly for it's bright rainbow of colors and partly cause it uses up stash.  It's a pattern I wrote back when we were in the little house and is still fun to make.

Needed a quick and easy project - doing a simple shawl with fingering weight gradient kits and the tedium is getting to me.  So, for a quick diversion - painless and fun, I'll be making this with some Silk Garden that has been speaking to me for a while.  It is the Emergency Hat from Frankie's Knitted Stuff (I love her patterns). 

We are back

I have been joining things lately....

I signed up for a weave a long - to weave something inspired by a painting.  I chose one that hung in my house when I was a kid...

  I always liked it and I think the colors are wonderful together - although I remember it much darker.  If you are interested in the WAL it is on the Saori for Everyone list on Ravelry

Also on Ravelry is the Tour De Fleece coming up.  While the riders are cycling through France on the Tour de France we'll be spinning along with them on our own wheels.  Many groups are doing this and there are often prizes and drawings for participating. 

There a lot of KALs and CALs lately on Ravelry too.  If you haven't tried one think about doing one they're fun.

For registering for Hand Embroidery class on June 13th. It's fun y'all.  We'll even learn some about embroidery in other cultures.....

And a new one from Mango Moon - Twist - a linen/cotton blend.  DK weight.  One ball makes  a quick  summer shawl and the pattern is free until June 15th when you buy the yarn.
