In Tullahoma there's fun happening.  The 41A Music Festival, but even better Dave has some of his wonderful creations for sale at the St Barnabas Episcopal Church Arts & Crafts Fair.  They'll be open from 9-6, Sat, Sep 26th.  It's at 110 E. Lincoln St.

He stopped in last month to show me some of them and the pictures don't even do justice to them.  They are so well done and cute as can be.  That hippo is my favorite, he even dyed the yarn for her clothes.

 

Slip Stitches

 Saturday I taught a slip stitch tutorial... It was free - and I demonstrated several different ways of doing the same k1, sl 1 pattern.  Each way is a little different... so folks could choose how they wanted their cowls to be.

The first - the slipped stitches are slipped on row 2 as well.  The second are all knitted on the 2nd row, the 3rd - all stitches are purled on row 2, the 4th - stitches were slipped with yarn in front... there are more variations possible, but you know it was a class, I didn't want to overwhelm anyone.

Next week's Free tutorial is on making the big lacy throw that I made a few weeks ago.  It takes 4 sk of Brown Sheep Burley Spun and #19 needles.

NEW CLASS! Sweater Clinic will help you get through knitting your first sweater. They will happen a couple times a month on Saturday mornings and you can just sign up when you need help. Classes are one hour, you can use whatever pattern you like and get help when you need it. These will run from the last week in September through at least the beginning of December.

New Noros

I didn't get around to posting these new yarns....but maybe it is just cause if it was possible I'd keep them all for myself.  Noro has finally sent to the States a yarn that has been in Japan for years.  It's called A La Mode and is a bright and happy solid colored yarn compatible with their worsted weight yarns. 

And then there are these....Rainbow Rolls.  You can knit them, you can use them for felting, you can weave with them, you could spin them.  There are 12 yummy colorways and I can hardly choose which to use.

 

This came in last week

Just now got to knit with it.  This is Mango Moon Dreadlocks and I just thought it was time for this one since they brought it back.  One skein makes a great chunky scarf.  Add some ribbon to the fringe for a little extra zing.

Have you Met Scozia?

Beautiful Tweedy Chunky yarn just came in from Italy and oh so sophisticated.  She's a VERY SOFT! blend of wool, viscose and polymide. So warm and comfy and joyful to knit with. See this lovely cowl/wrap - Shaw Hill by Alicia Plummer (on Ravelry) made from 5 balls.  I think these are perfect for man scarves and maybe boot toppers too.
