Knitting Groups

Please remember you are welcome to come by and knit or crochet with us any time!   Here are some free groups to join the creative community!

• Mondays         noon to 2pm      tatting
• Tuesdays         1pm - 3pm          socks-along
• Wednesdays  10:30am-1pm    bring your lunch and projects
• Thursday        5pm- 7pm           KAL blanket
• Friday              5pm-7pm            stitch and share
• Sundays           1pm-3pm            charity projects

If you'd like to learn to knit or crochet, we will teach you.   Call ahead to set up a time, then come purchase your yarn and needles or hooks and we'll get you started.  Lessons are free when you purchase your supplies from us.  

Fiber in the Boro Classes

are Up and registration is Open!   There are lots of fun things to learn.  I am teaching Advanced Rigid Heddle Weaving techniques.  Fiber in the Boro is October 24th - mark your calendars.  It is Fabulous!

Open Wednesday 1-4pm

Normally we would be closed Wednesday.  But tomorrow is special - we will be open from 1-4pm just for all those Stitches travelers coming into the area.  Stop by and see us while you are here. And hey join us for Friday Night Knitting from 5-7 too.

 

Easter Bunny Class

Come make an Easter Bunny out of a knitted square!  Saturday (I know it is just before Easter but you can get it done by then, I promise).  Knit a square at least 6" big in either stockinette of garter stitch and bring it, a tapestry needle, knitting needles and some stuffing to class on Saturday April 4th at 10:30am and we'll make bunnies!  Free Class.

No Knitting Group Tonight

This Friday there is no Knitting Group.  Robin will be here today and we will close at 6pm.  See ya'll next Friday.

Summer Basket of Savings

for this week is Auracania Cotton/Patagonia AND Big Easy Vivo Print for 45% off.  

Auracania is lumpy bumpy hand dyed chunky cotton and Vivo is Bulky cotton - kind of a mesh yarn that you can make very quick projects from.   

 

Oh and one more thing......During July, while they last, because Doyle said they have to go,  patterns in the binders are 99 cents!  Knaughty Knitter patterns and booklets of many patterns are excluded though.  But hey that is still A LOT of patterns.  There are over a 20 binders full......

My New Scarf Book

is being printed by Doyle as I write this.  I thought I would post pictures but it appears typepad is not allowing me to at the moment (Karen, what happened to that little icon up there, I know you know where it is!)

I designed the scarves for new to intermediate knitters. It is designed to help new knitters grow their skills, and most are enough to keep intermediate knitters interested too.  Some of the patterns have been around the store for a while, many are totally new. 

Saturday!

Adventures in Agriculture at the Lane Agri Park - go, its fun and interesting and free.  There's stuff for everyone and you learn things too.  9-1pm.  We'll be in the barn area with the animals and other fiber people.

Here's the latest on the move

As some of you know  we have been looking for bigger space!  We found it about a week ago and we had been planning on moving the first part of May but have moved it up a bit.  As it stands now, and assuming the contractor continues to move at the same pace , we will be moving the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of April.  We will be closed all of the time for moving and then vacation from April 21st until May 3rd.  Please understand that this could, of course, change again any minute.....It has been like that.  The new address as of May 3rd will be 202B N. Thompson Lane.  This is the building on your right after you pass the entry to Walmart on Thompson Lane.  The one with all the solar panels on top.  It is easy to find and pretty easy to get in and out of.  We have the windows covered some so you can't see before it is ready - I want to surprise everyone with how it'll look.  Of course right now it is a mess cause the new carpet isn't in yet and the painting hasn't happened yet.  We're pretty excited.

With that I have postponed the classes scheduled for the 21st .  I did put up the classes for summer, and will be adding more as I think of them.  There is space for two tables and so two classes at a time.  WooHoo!
